Please don’t feel any pressure to complete all of the work. If you are struggling to finish the work, below are suggested topics to prioritise. If you would like extra work, please read some more of the PowerPoints suggested below under Stair, Tír eolas agus Eolaíocht and have your child write or record an audio about what they read. I find the web site www.tearma.ie very helpful if there is an Irish word that I don’t understand or can’t spell. It is a very helpful online Irish dictionary.

Your child’s well- being is what is most important (And your own 😊) So please only take from this what you want. The children will be fine. This is only temporary, and we will get back on track quickly when we return to school.

Béarla: Write a story. Use http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/story-starters/ to help you plan. First brainstorm your idea. Think of your introduction, characters, setting, what is the problem, how will the problem be resolved and the conclusion. It might take a few days to do the preparation work before you start writing your story. Read back over your work and edit it. Use a dictionary for spelling and a thesaurus to find more exciting words.
Drámaíocht: Chose a topic that you are interested in and prepare a presentation on that topic. For example, the GAA. Think of some interesting facts. You might like to collect a prop or two. Stand in front of some family members and talk about this topic for 5 minutes.
